Culloden and Nessie are two highland cows that joined us at Scrogg House in April of 2017.  2 weeks later – and much to our surprise we had a ‘Easter present’ – born on Good Friday was Malty.

Our learning curve was suddenly a lot steeper- but Culloden was a very good mum – and Malty grew fast and strong (but he still likes his cuddles with us – even if he doesn’t realise his own strength!)

Our cows are hand fed twice a day and recently Nessie and Malty have taken a liking to being brushed which gives me time to have a good look at them and ensure they are fit and healthy.  They are also fond of a good neck rub!

If you are staying with us in our cottages you are welcome to join feeding time when they come to the front of our house for carrots, feed nuts and sometimes hay.
